I didn’t grow up in China, but I was born there and, ever since I was little, I saw that as a source of pride. I didn’t want to be American, I wanted to be Chinese. So, what does it mean to me when I look at these images of millions taking part in this and saying that this is what Chinese beauty is? Is this what it means to be Chinese today? To be a woman? 2017.
